Equipment as a Service (EaaS) is an example of a business model in which equipment is provided for a fee that includes maintenance and other value-added services. By moving towards providing a service, industrial companies can ensure better outcomes for their end customers, capture more of the value chain, and create a stable recurring revenue base.
As Equipment-as-a-Service models gain critical mass in manufacturing, there is no doubt that digital transformation and risk-mitigation become stepping stones to success. Access the free whitepaper explaining how to successfully establish EaaS models enabling operational and financial risk-sharing.

A recent study conducted by Forrester Consulting found that 88% of innovative manufacturers have started or completed their digital transformation, compared to 54% of other companies. There is a lot of emphasis on the digital side of transformation, but it is pointless without a business outcome in mind. Transforming the business is the goal, while digital is the tool.
These will be tough questions to answer, particularly for businesses looking to digital transformation for cost-cutting, streamlining or efficiency reasons. Bringing a third-party IIoT partner on board may, at first glance, appear an unnecessary expense and one that’s difficult to justify before a single device has ever been connected up. That is until you take into consideration the time required to select the appropriate technologies; to train teams to work with the new systems; to maintain and update these systems; and the time you will lose on your core business as you redeploy resources to grapple with these challenges
