relayr and BSH Home Appliances Group (BSH) are working together to create advanced smart home solutions. relayr will be helping BSH to accelerate their innovation process and create exciting new smart products that utilise the Internet of Things.
 
In February, the two companies collaborated on the Hack The House hackathon in Berlin. At the event, 40 developers worked on creating IoT solutions that used relayr technology and Bosch and Siemens Home Connect smart appliances.
 
Cash prizes worth a total of €16,000 and mentoring from BSH was on offer to the winning teams. The team who took home the first prize, Team Blended, created a high-tech sensor- enabled connected kitchen in just 28 hours by using relayr’s rapid prototyping tools. This unique hackathon was held in a Victorian-era apartment in the west of Berlin and featured its own chef – a far cry from the usual warehouses or convention centres.
 
BSH and relayr are also working on a solution to improve user safety and allow older appliances to connect to other devices.
